Winter is almost over! Soon the sun will come up, the snow will melt away and the warmth will bring us a little ray of hope!

This piece is inspired by the Little Match Girl story.
"On a cold New Year’s Eve, a poor girl selling matches on the street takes shelter in a nook and lights the matches to warm herself. In their light, she sees several lovely visions including a Christmas tree and a holiday feast. The girl looks skyward, sees a shooting star, and remembers such stars mean someone is dying. As she lights her last match, she sees a vision of her deceased grandmother, the only person to have treated her with love and kindness. The child dies and her grandmother carries her soul to Heaven. The next morning, passers-by find the dead child in the nook, with a smile on her face." (Wikipedia, 2009)

Lamps in the snow always remind me of Chronicles of Narnia... I really like the intricate little design that you put into the bottom of the lamp :)

I wonder if the "matches" were an analog for drugs? :V

Also, good seeing you post stuff again. Cool snow coating effect, though the total lack of snow on the ribbon makes it look too "clean" and seperate from the picture.

That said, the girls's posh coat reacts well to the enviroment - both snow and lighting.

One question: If her hands were pulled to her sides, elbows down, her shoulders would be smaller/bunched up.
Wouldn't that cause the coat to cling to her tighter (unless there's wind blowing the coat up, along with the ribbon)?

The trouble with most of us is that we would rather be ruined by praises than be saved by criticism.
